THE LITTLE DETAILS

Snake Escape

Move colored snakes toward their matching exits. The useful question is which snake has room to move now, and which one needs another body out of its way.

How to move the snakes

Snake Escape is a route-planning puzzle about matching bodies to exits. Locate a snake, find the exit with the same color, and drag the snake toward that opening. Other snakes occupy useful space, so the shortest-looking path may not be the first path you can use.

Read the whole arrangement before moving. Match colors deliberately, follow the route you want to use and check where the rest of the snake's body will go. Solving the board means finding a sequence that lets every snake reach its own exit.

Open space for the next snake

Start with a snake that already has an uncomplicated route to its matching exit. Removing that body can free several cells at once. Then look for the snake that benefits most from the new gap rather than continuing in the same corner out of habit.

Treat a narrow passage as a shared resource. If a body occupies it, check whether that snake can leave before planning to bring another snake through. A move that creates space is often more useful than one that merely brings a snake closer to its exit.

When the board feels stuck, choose one destination and work backwards. Ask which space beside the exit must be empty, which body is currently using it, and where that body could go. This turns a crowded picture into a smaller sequence of practical questions.

Snake routes and arrow lanes

Unlike an arrow-removal puzzle, this game gives each snake a color-matched destination. A route to the wrong opening does not solve the right problem. Keep the exit color in mind while planning around occupied cells.

For a different rule set, the homepage arrow game focuses on the direction in front of an arrowhead. Tangrams replaces moving routes with a static silhouette that you fill with geometric pieces.

Snake Escape questions

How do I know which exit to use?

Match the snake's color to the exit color. Identify that destination before dragging so you can plan the route toward the correct edge.

Why can another snake matter even if it has a different exit?

Its body still occupies the board. Clearing a different color first may provide the corridor or turning space your selected snake needs.
